This field trip has a little of everything. Students will learn about the life cycle of an apple orchard, trees, bees, chickens, and goats...with a tractor ride to cap off the experience.

About the Event

  • Enjoy an educational presentation where students will learn the life cycle of an apple tree, how trees grow, identify parts of the tree, how their unique plumbing system helps them transport nutrients, create oxygen, photosynthesis and more.

  • Explore the bees hut, while learning about bees, pollination and the parts of the apple blossom, learn to so the bee dance.

  • Experience the guided educational tour aboard a tractor-drawn train ride through the Apple Holler orchards and Enchanted Forest.  Learn how our wind machines protect the orchard.

  • Explore the Enchanted Forest with a native scavenger hunt: Find a tree cookie and learn how to determine the age of a tree and learn how to read the tree’s life story and more.

  • Enjoy a freshly baked cookie treat and fresh apple cider.

  • Visit the farm yard and feed the chickens and goats


Arrive: 10:00am (This gives you a little time for parking, restrooms, and looking around.)

Event: 10:15am - 2:00pm

The formal presentation is approximately 90 minutes long but you are welcome to stay and enjoy the grounds much longer.


Lunch: Feel free to bring a sack lunch and stay to explore and play.

Weather: This event is rain or shine so please dress appropriately.
